Why is air sealing your attic important?
Most people do not think about air sealing their attic before adding insulation. The EPA estimates that the typical American home has enough leaks, holes and gaps to be equal to an open window every day of the year. You can't see the hole because it's the sum of many smaller openings. These gaps around plumbing pipes, light fixtures, chimneys and other attic bypasses are hidden under your insulation. Without air sealing your attic you are allowing conditioned air to escape from your home carrying with it your hard earned money.
